Tonight I went to a seminar for my day job all about social networking, which included blogging. It reminded me of how badly I’ve neglected this site! Things slowed down significantly over the holidays, but I did have a few cakes that I haven’t posted yet. Plus, as I type, I have a birthday cake in the oven for this weekend. So stay tuned for pictures and posts next week!

I’ve had a crazy cake weekend, and I’m not even done yet! I’m about to upload pictures, but I wanted to be sure that I thank my wonderful sister-in-law, Erin, and my hubby, Jason, for all their help this week! Erin was a huge help with dishes and other odd jobs one afternoon this week, and Jason was in the kitchen with me all day today. He did most of the tire cake himself, and traced the buttercream transfers of Bobby Jack for the cake tomorrow!

Thanks to everyone who has visited this site so far! I’m taking a break from cake making for the next few weekends, or at least I’m going to try. 
We’re tackling some long overdue yardwork and enjoying a powdered sugar free kitchen! But be sure to check back in May! I’ll be trying lots of fun new cakes, including a pirate ship for a two-year-old’s birthday and a topsy-turvey (a.k.a. mad hatter) wedding cake!
